I'm Katherine Buse.

​I'm a scholar of digital media, the environmental humanities, and cultures of science and technology. I study how ideas about nature and planetary systems are negotiated between the sciences and other parts of culture, especially science fiction. 

I'm an Assistant Professor in Cinema and Media Studies and the Center for Environment, Geography and Urbanization at the University of Chicago.

I teach classes about media studies, science fiction, video games, and history and cultures of science, including "Planetary Media," "Technologies of Care," "Gaming History," and more.
