I'm Katherine Buse.
I'm a scholar of digital media, the environmental humanities, and cultures of science and technology. I study how ideas about nature and planetary systems are negotiated between the sciences and other parts of culture, especially science fiction. I'm currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Stevanovich Institute on the Formation of Knowledge at the University of Chicago. I am also a graphic and game designer. I teach classes about American literature, science fiction, video games, and history and cultures of science, including "Planets in Science and Culture," "Environmental Literature," "Gaming History," and more. |
